The Lesher Center for the Arts: Music, Dance, Drama, Comedy, and More

Just a five-minute drive from the Lafayette Park Hotel, the Lesher Center for the Arts is one of Northern California’s premier venues for riveting drama, dance, musical theater, opera, improv comedy, orchestral entertainment, and so much more. Performances this month include Native Gardens, Karen Zacarias’s uproariously funny play about feuding neighbors who overcome superficial differences to discover their shared humanity (now through November 16); Mozart and His Mentor, a tribute to the Viennese maestros Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn, brought to you by the California Symphony (November 16 and 17); The Christmas Ballet, a mash-up of ballet, tap, and jazz dance styles, set to a variety of classical and contemporary Christmas music favorites (November 22 – 23); and the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, one of the most beloved ballets and venerable Christmas traditions the world over, specially arranged into an action-packed hour of dazzling dance by the Contra Costa Ballet Company (November 29 – December 1).
