One of Northern California’s top performance venues, the Lesher Center for the Arts thrills audiences year-round at its three impressive theaters. From musicals to plays, to ballets, to operas, to improvisation comedy, to full symphony orchestras, the Lesher Center has something for everyone on its packed performance schedule. Current and upcoming events include Thoroughly Modern Millie, a hilarious and high-spirited musical that follows flapper Millie Dillmount on her zany adventures in the Big Apple during the Roaring 20s (now through November 10); Dancing Lessons, a heartwarming play about a Broadway dancer and the young man who becomes her student (now through November 17); the Smuin Contemporary Ballet’s annual holiday dance extravaganza, packed with enough ballet, jazz, and tap feats to warm the heart of the most miserly Scrooge (November 16 – 17); and the Contra Costa Ballet’s stunning rendition of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, one of the world’s most powerful and beloved Christmas traditions (November 23 – 25).
